The reality that winter really is just around the corner has definitely hit us the past week or so. The temperature has dropped dramatically - this is the week’s outlook for our weather here. Snow, freezing rain - it’s a bit crazy to me when a high of 12 degrees Celsius ends up feeling toasty.
The surrounding mountains have already got their light dusting of snow, but there’s one particular thing that was the definite sign that winter was imminent...
It might just look like nothing more than a wet road. If you’re able to zoom in on the picture though, you’d see that those workmen were testing the sprinkler system that prevents the snow from building up on the roads here. Oh, the things you’ve gotta do in snow country to make everyday life easier to navigate!
After spending the last several years in the beating heart of Tokyo, I will be spending the next three in the countryside of Japan. I adore this country and all it has to offer - and I'm always learning more and more about life here as I go along!
