The description

This product is a mini shine muscat parfait, and it's a limited-time, seasonal offering from Coco's Restaurants across the country. It was priced at 539 yen including tax.

The good

Even though this product is called a "mini parfait", it's still a very sizeable dessert option that has a lot going on with it. There is a layer of grape flavored jelly, vanilla ice cream, shine muscat flavored gelato, actual shine muscat pieces, whipped cream, a kyoho grape sauce, and a mint leaf as a garnish. Because of all the fun flavors and textures it feels very satisfying, and at only 272 calories for the entire thing it's quite light, too. It also seems quite expensive for a dessert, but I know that grapes are pretty pricey -- and a parfait here is a lot cheaper than at some other places I've seen where it's well over 1000 yen.

The not so good

As I mentioned above in the positive features section, there's a lot going on with this dessert in terms of different tastes and textures. Everything worked together well for my tastebuds, but I know some people don't like lots of different textures in their desserts of choice. Overall though, I felt this was a really tasty, seasonally appropriate dessert, and I also thought the price was worth it for what you get. Coco's has a few other shine muscat desserts on their menu at the moment -- a full size parfait, shine muscat crepes, and shine muscat gelato and ice cream, if you'd rather try one of those options. Happy eating!
