Good timing for Papico Day

With heatstroke warnings in effect across Niigata today, I'm taking that as a pretty good excuse to reach for something icy. Usually it's BigFamJapan who introduces us to a variety of unique daily celebrations here, but there's one I know of today, and that's Papico Day!

Anyone who has spent a summer here knows that there are days when you don't really want a snack so much as you want something cold enough to reset your entire body. Papico fits the bill rather nicely, with that slushy, icy texture.

So, happy Papico Day. If you happen to find yourself standing in front of the freezer today wondering whether it's too early for an icy snack, I'd say the weather has already made the decision for you.
