The good
If there was ever a cake that I would refer to as an old faithful, it would have to be chocolate cake. Just about everyone loves it, and it doesn't really need any bells and whistles. This classic chocolate cake from Tully's is a great example of it, and it doesn't need any crazy textures or fancy toppings/fillings to taste good -- it's just chocolate sponge cake with chocolate cream sandwiched inside and on top, with a sprinkling of cocoa powder for good measure. To me, this is a solid option for anyone who is a bit indecisive when it comes to picking a dessert, or wants something that doesn't have any surprise textures.
The not so good
The thing that makes this appealing to so many can also be its downfall for others. It's a pretty simple chocolate cake, which means that for a lot of folks it might not have the excitement or the novelty that new, limited-time cake offerings do. Obviously there are plenty of delicious dessert items to pick from on the Tully's menu if you're wanting something a bit more involved, though!
