I feel like the chocolate old fashioned donut is a bit of a staple here, and it's featured at convenience stores, donut chains like Mister Donut, and the like. Starbucks also have their take on this classic available at the moment, and it has all the usual trademarks -- a crispy donut exterior, a nice moist inside, and a generous coating of chocolate for a bit of added sweetness. I think since it's a fairly simple flavor combo that it will have quite a broad appeal, so that's another positive element to this product. It is a bit pricier than a Mister Donut chocolate old fashioned, but I wouldn't say this is exorbitantly priced for Starbucks' standards.

I would say that all in all, I prefer the Mister Donut chocolate old fashioned! Theirs is under 200 yen, and while it's not as heavy on the chocolate coating (only half-coated), I actually enjoy that more. It's a good reminder that more expensive doesn't always mean better or more appealing! If you are at a Starbucks store and looking for a sweet treat this is a perfectly serviceable option, and as I mentioned above I don't think the price is too bad based off the usual Starbucks standard.
