Halloween on a budget and how people here celebrate
Halloween falls on a Saturday this year, which gives people an opportunity to celebrate without squeezing activities into a busy school or workday. It saying that, it doesn't necessarily mean everyone plans to spend big!
A survey of 228 people across Japan by First Innovation's survey media SES Plus found that 60.5% felt the Saturday timing made them more enthusiastic about Halloween. Despite that increased interest, 53.9% planned to spend less than ¥3,000, including those intending to spend nothing.

Buying Halloween sweets or limited-edition products was the most popular planned activity, which was selected by 48.2% of respondents. Cooking or preparing desserts at home was another popular option, while spending the occasion with family, including children, was the most common response when participants were asked who they planned to celebrate with.
