I bought a couple of these "nyan waffles" as treats for my kids, and first and foremost -- they're just cute. Are they necessary? Not really...but will they bring some joy into your life? Absolutely. They are a chocolate waffle base shaped like a cat's head, and even the packaging has a cat design on it. You could add any kind of spread you want to this (e.g. peanut butter) or even serve it with some chopped fruit to make it a little bit more healthful. I think the price isn't bad at 149 yen -- not a bargain, but not exorbitant either, and the joyful factor is hard to beat :)

As I said above in the positive features section, this is very much not a "need to have" item -- I still think it's something that is fun and brought a smile to my kids faces, though, and sometimes that's what it's all about. If you are a cat lover, know someone who is, or just want to surprise someone in your life with a cute snack item, keep an eye out for these at your nearest Kaldi Coffee Farm location. I imagine that they will be on sale right up until Cat Day which is the 22nd of February. Happy eating, and enjoy! :)
