If you've been in Japan for any length of time, you probably see the tsukimi-themed burgers popping up at various fast food joints at this time of year. If you're not really a burger fan or you'd just prefer something sweet, then KFC has this fun mochi custard tsukimi pie! The outside has a nice crispy crunch to it, and inside there's a filling of custard cream and chewy mochi. I think all of the textures work together really well for a dessert that is both tasty and satisfying at the same time.

I will say that the price did feel like it could have been a bit lower -- 300 yen feels a bit pricey for a fast food chain pie, but maybe that's just the way of the world these days! Also, if you find yourself really enjoying it, then you only have a short window of time to get your hands on it since it's a seasonal-limited product. Overall though, I thought this was a nice option for anyone who prefers a sweet treat over a burger in the lead up to tsukimi time. Head in to your nearest KFC store while you can if you think you'd enjoy it!
