I have tried buying melon spread before but I think it was too much and when I say too much it means it was too sweet. Seven-Eleven also has a regular melon bread on sale almost all year round. However, this one is an elevated version of that regular on the convenience store's shelves. The price is just right as well since it has jam and cream inside so it justifies being more than 200 yen per piece. The amount of jam and cream was pretty balanced so it wasn't too much or too sweet for my liking.

As for the negative side of this product, I would say it could be a bad idea to eat it if you are on a diet. However, it is the holiday season so it might be a good exception, just this time around. If you like drinking sweet coffee like I do, I think it could get really sweet. It is best paired with plain coffee, I suppose. I must say that it can be bigger just like the regular bread that convenience stores and bakeshops offer all year round. I think it makes up for the spread it has inside but it wouldn't hurt if it gets bigger.
