The description
This product is a pouch that can be used for many different purposes made in Japan using Yuzen, traditional Japanese resist-dyeing technique, on the beautiful design.
The good
I love the design. I've always been a fan of these quintessential Japanese designs that use Yuzen techniques. Particularly ones with flower motifs. They make great souvenirs every time. Anyone I have ever given a Japanese design pouch (or equivalent) to, has been very happy with it. I also like the size of this pouch, not too big, not too small. I bought it thinking the receiver might get use out of it as a make-up bag. It might not be big enough for someone who carries a lot of make-up, but it is ideal for someone who just needs to bring a few bits of make-up in their handbag.
The not so good
Like absolutely everything in Japan, the price for these type of souvenirs has gone up. However, even though I would have been able to get this product for 1000 yen last year, I don't think 1100 yen is extravagant and I do think it is still worth that money as it is a beautiful looking product. Furthermore, it is well made. Moreover, it was made in japan. When I am giving souvenirs from Japan to my family or friends in Ireland, I prefer to give them Japanese products that were actually made in Japan and not elsewhere!
Former nickname was "Saitama". Changed it to save confusion on place review posts! Irish, 20+ years in Japan! I also write on my personal website: insaitama.com
