The description
Soft, fluffy donuts filled with rich chocolate whip made with fresh cream. A chilled treat from Yamazaki bakery, that comes in a pack of 4. Widely available in Japan.
The good
The Yamazaki Fresh / Nama Donuts with fresh chocolate whip are soft, fluffy donuts filled with rich chocolate whip made with fresh cream. They are way too rich for my liking and the white sugary coating is too much too. The pack of four is convenient and it means that they can be shared within the average sized family. The price isn't bad either. As a Yamazaki bakery product they are widely available at supermarkets and drug stores around Japan. The packaging is plastic and light, but for that reason they can easily get crushed in a full bag of shopping.
The not so good
The chocolate cream is not very nice, its a bit too off chocolate yet sweet and rich. They have a regular cream version which is nicer, in my humble opinion. As above, the price isn't that bad. I paid 198 yen. But the price varies greatly by supermarket and region. I personally wouldn't pay more than 200 yen for this product. Sometimes it can be as expensive as 375 yen. I definitely wouldn't pay that for it. Overall, this product is not a good fit for my household! Nobody particularly loved it or even liked it enough for me to buy it again. I will buy the regular cream variety again though.
