Today, January 14th 2026, and every month on the second Wednesday of the month, is Monteur Day. Monteur are a dessert company that specialize in fresh, chilled desserts. This review is for their 'dessert waffle' product. The waffle has good substance in it and so I find that of all Monteur's desserts that I have tasted, this one is the most filling. The cream filling is delicious, but I'd personally prefer it with a different type of wrapping to waffle. (The waffle is folded around the cream filling.) Like all Monteur products that I personally have experience with, I like that this product is fresh and that it is chilled.

This is my least favorite of Monteur's chilled desserts. As I said above, I love the cream filling of this product, which has a custard taste to it, but I personally don't like the waffle of this product. I think its the texture that doesn't agree with my taste buds! I will eat it, but only if there is nothing better on offer! The Monteur Custard Waffle Cakes are decent, but not as memorable as their cream puffs or eclairs. The waffle texture can feel a bit dry, especially if not eaten fresh. However, all the said, I probably will buy these dessert waffles again. But I don't buy them as regularly as other fresh, chilled desserts by Monteur.
