Up front I will say I wasn't overly awed by this new product from Yamazaki bakery. When I say "new product" its not entirely true. They have had similar products like this in the past. What it actually says on the package in Japanese, is more accurate; its a "newly released" product. I imagine that it is an improvement or alteration to a product they've previously had on the market. The milk whip in this donut is truly delicious. Its more milky than creamy I thought. Its very smooth and not like the usual whipped cream you get in bakery items like these ones.

I did not like the donut pastry of this newly released product. Its reminiscent of the old jam doughnuts I used to get as a child in my home country of Ireland, but that's not necessarily a good thing! For one, I've become quite accustomed to the Japanese style. Moreover, if I am going to have an old fashioned type doughnut, I'd rather it have nice jam in it than cream. The price isn't bad, but because I don't overly like this donut, I personally wouldn't pay this price for it again. However, if I ever see it discounted for less than 100 yen, I might give it another go! The wrapping is nice in this product, but it probably adds to the overall cost. To be honest, the luxurious wrapping doesn't match the contents!
