Today I've been sharing the products I have tried by Monteur, a dessert company that specializes in chilled desserts, because its Monteur Day! You will find a post about Monteur Day on City-cost. My second favorite of their desserts is this, the Monsteur Milk and Egg Roll cake. (My favorite is their mini eclairs). The reason I like this roll cake from Monteur is largely due to the cream. The cream in this roll cake is particularly good. It is made from eggs and Hokkaido milk. I also like that the sponge compliments the cream well and there is neither too much nor too little of the sponge. The texture is light and pleasant, and the sweetness is gentle enough for those who prefer milder flavors.

However, the sponge can feel a bit dry if not eaten fresh, and while I personally like the cream, some people may find it lacks depth compared, particularly compared to richer patisserie-style rolls. This is also, in my experience, the most expensive of the Monteur products available in supermarkets around the country. Please note that the prices vary greatly by supermarket and by region. On average I pick this up for 299 yen, before tax, making it about 100 yen more expensive than their other chilled desserts. Overall though, I like this product and I will buy it again.
