Keeping cool in summer: Neck Cooling Gel Beads Pad
I have been sharing some of Japan's cooling products in the series "Keeping cool in summer". Next up, neck cooling gel beads pad, pictured. I haven't seen this type of product often, but then again, I have only really been in the market for cooling products this year. Again, this is not a review, rather an explanation of this particular cooling product.

What is it
This U‑shaped pad is filled with soft gel beads that chill quickly in the fridge and stay cool for a surprisingly long time once worn. Because the beads move individually rather than forming one solid block, reportedly the pad stays flexible and sits comfortably around the neck. One of the advantages of this type of product is that it doesn't require batteries. It is also reusable and easy to slip on before heading out in the heat and humidity.
The cooling effect isn’t as strong as, say, an electric neck cooler, but it’s gentle, safe, and perfect for people who prefer a quiet, no‑fan option. It is a simple, convenient and cost-effective way to keep a little cooler in the height of summer.
