The description
A fruit shortcake served like a ice-cream sundae - in a glass. It is sponge topped with cream with fresh fruit on the top, and a trickle of sauce completes it.
The good
This is one of Steak Gusto's mini dessert options. There are 13 different desserts on the "mini" menu in total. They cost 180 each, but if you buy two it is 340 yen and if you order three it is only 460 yen, working out at just 154 yen each. The "fruits short" is a fruits shortcake served in a glass. I really liked the novelty of shortcake in a glass. It looks like an ice cream sundae. I also like that the portion is manageable after a large meal. Steak Gusto has all-you-can-eat salads, rice, curry if you opt for that menu, so there's rarely enough room left for anything other than a mini dessert!
The not so good
Kiwi wouldn't be my favorite fruit, but it works well with this dessert and it's a good match to the orange. There was no cherry on top - they may not have been in season, but from photos I have seen, sometimes there is a cherry on top too! Like most of the mini desserts by Steak Gusto, it is not a very filling dessert, but of the ones I have tasted to date, its actually the most filling. But some people may not find it so and it also may not have enough depth or complexity for some people. But if you want a light, fresh finish to a meal in Steak Gusto, it is a good option.
