When you live in a tourist town... Part II
When you live in a tourist town, there is always something to do and something to see. For example, you don't have to wait for an event or a special occasion to see passengers being transported on a beautiful old rickshaw, as it is a daily occurrence.

I took this photo in Kawagoe, where you can ride a rickshaw, known as jinrikisha in Japanese, all year round. At a cost of course! I love when I can witness it passing by one of the period buildings that Kawagoe is famous for.
The timing was lucky as the rickshaw was passing a traditional old building, which is now home to Chabudai, a guest house just outside the tourist district. Reportedly, the building is over 100 years old and was originally one half of a two-unit nagaya (long row house) that operated as a fertiliser wholesaler.
