The Strawberry Custard French is my second favorite of the cruller choice at Mister Donuts. I only get the crullers from time to time, as I prefer the Angel Cream. But the Strawberry Custard French has a lovely balance of airy texture and creamy richness. The cruller itself is extremely light, with that signature soft, melt‑in‑the‑mouth feel. The strawberry chocolate on the top isn't overbearing. I do prefer the plain chocolate one, but strawberry chocolate is nice from time to time. Sometimes I find strawberry chocolate a bit too sweet and tangy, but it's not the case with this donut.

While I don't find the strawberry chocolate too sweet on this donut, some people might find it a bit too much, especially with the sweet custard filling. On the flip side, people who are a fan of strawberry chocolate, might find there is not enough chocolate on top! Because the cruller is so airy, it isn’t very filling. It feels like its gone in two bites! Also (especially at this time of year) the icing can melt quickly, making it a bit messy to handle. Fans of firmer or less sweet donuts may find this one a bit too soft and candy‑like and may prefer another option.
