The description

The good
Today is Monteur Day in Japan. Monteur is a dessert company in Japan. I think they specialise in fresh, chilled desserts in particular. We eat quite a bit of Monteur desserts. Not all the time! But every now and then and the bite size eclairs are among our favorites. Called "puchi" eclairs in Japanese (I love that word puchi!) they are creamy bite-sized eclairs made with Hokkaido cream, milk, and eggs, and they use vanilla seeds too. They are topped with chocolate. I like that there are five pieces per pack, although I would prefer if there were six for my family of six! Thankfully, my husband doesn't have a sweet tooth, so the five suffices, but still! The price is very good, especially given how much chocolate costs these days.
The not so good
As above, the five does actually suffice, but I would prefer if they had six in the pack. Also, don't quote me on this, but I think once upon a time this product did have six in the pack? I don't know for sure, but I wouldn't be surprised to learn that is true. I sort of remember when the kids were smaller, that when my husband and I didn't indulge, my four kids being able to cut two in half and have one and half eclairs each. As I said though, I am not certain. Overall I like this product enough to buy it every now and then - on average once a month probably. Maybe without realizing it on or near "Monteur Day" which is on the second Wednesday of every month.
Former nickname was "Saitama". Changed it to save confusion on place review posts! Irish, 20+ years in Japan! I also write on my personal website: insaitama.com
