The description
This product review is of the Chocolate Cream flavor of Danish Hearts, which is baked with a cocoa Danish dough and filled with a warm, melty chocolate cream.
The good
I will confess up front; this is my least favorite flavor of the Danish Hearts I have tried so far. "Danish Hearts" is the brand name of a line of pastries by the bakery "Andersen". They have branches around Japan. Overall the product tasted more like cocoa flavor to me than chocolate flavor, so it is no surprise to learn that the dough is cocoa flavor. They describe the chocolate inside as warm / melty, which I suppose it was, but the chocolate flavor just wasn't dense enough for me. I liked the crunch factor of this Danish though.
The not so good
As above, overall, I find the chocolate flavor to be lacking. It's not chocolate enough! It does taste more like cocoa, or brown sugar, to me, but I am no super taster. Like the other Danish Hearts I have reviewed on City-cost, I found this product to be a bit too small. Although, in fairness to Andersen / Danish Heart, it is only supposed to be bite size. You buy them in a set of six to seven. Even still, I found the price a little on the expensive side. However, it is only something I buy as a treat for the family every now and then. More often than not, I don' t choose the chocolate flavor and go for sugar or their milk flavor instead.
