The description
This product is a pack of low-calorie grape flavored konnyaku (Konjac) jelly with 18% fruit juice, offering a juicy burst of flavor in firm, bite size pouch.
The good
One of the things I like most about konnyaku / konjac jelly is that they are designed to reduce the risk of choking. The packs are designed so that you have to push the jelly out little by little rather than sucking them straight out. The 18% fruit juice gives it a surprisingly natural grape aroma. Ther is only 13‑kcal per pouch. The jelly delivers a quick, juicy pop that’s perfect when you want something sweet and refreshing but light. The small pouches make it easy to carry, and the portion size keeps things controlled.
The not so good
However, there are only six in the pack, which isn't great for sharing and in this house with four kids, one pack is gone in seconds! But at about 120 yen (between 108 yen and 150 yen on average, before tax) I can't complain about the price really. It works out at just 20 yen per pouch (before tax). Because each pouch is small, it’s easy to finish the pack quickly, which may disappoint those expecting a more substantial treat. The firmness of konjac jelly can be polarizing, and this grape version is no exception; some may find it too stiff or lacking the smoothness of traditional gelatin snacks.
