I am delighted to see this flavor of Kitkat back. They have had many strawberry flavor variations over the years, but so far, this one has been my favorite. Because, unlike older variations that feature entirely pink strawberry chocolate, this specific "Chocolat" version is distinct because it combines a strawberry-flavored top layer with a milk chocolate base. It initially came out as a winter special in 2024 and it was brought back in September this year. As with all KitKat, I like that it comes in a pack of nine - its good for my family size and / or for sharing. I also like that they are individually wrapped. Their size is great too - they fit nicely into a bento box as a surprise for the kids.

The biggest drawback in 2026 is its price. My local Beisia were selling Kitkat for 298 until recently, now its 322 before tax. They are even more expensive in other stores. And I saw that a bag of these is selling for 680 yen on Amazon. So, if you can, it's best to buy them in store rather than online. Although, the size is great for convenience, as in the example above - popping into a bento box, it is not very filling. If you are looking for a filling sweet treat this isn't it. You could end up eating all 9 if you are hungry and open a pack of these! Another drawback is that because they are seasonal they are not available all year round. Moreover, there is no guarantee they will release them again next or another year.
