A day to give thanks to Cavalier King Charles Spaniel Dogs!

September 13th annually is Cavalier King Charles Spaniel Thank You Day キャバリア・キング・チャールズ・スパニエル ありがとうの日 in Japan. A commemoration established by a photo studio in Kawasaki that specializes in dog photos, and registered with the Japan Anniversary Association.

The date comes from a playful mix of symbolism. Cavaliers belong to Group 9 in the Fédération Cynologique Internationale classification (FCI), and “King” represents 13 in playing cards, bringing together 9 and 13, September 13th, as an ideal day of appreciation for Cavalier King Charles Spaniel dogs.

The breed’s history traces back to King Charles II of England, who adored these gentle, playful spaniels. Today, Cavaliers are cherished for their silky coats, expressive eyes, and loving nature.
