The description
A small, freshly baked heart‑shaped Danish, by Andersen, filled with a soft condensed‑milk cream, finished with a sprinkle of coconut with a light, sweet crunch.
The good
I really liked the taste of the Condensed Milk Danish Heart by Andersen. However, I thought it was custard by taste! It was only when I was checking facts to write this review that I realized it is in fact condensed milk. Which, in fairness, it was probably advertised as such in store, but I didn't pay much attention. I ordered it by pointing at it! The condensed milk adds a lovely, soft sweetness inside, and the Danish is crispy on the outside. To be perfectly honest, I didn't pick up on the coconut topping when eating it. It is very subtle.
The not so good
Like most of the Danish Hearts, this product is not cheap. Moreover, I think it has the most calories, relative to size, of their range. There are 509 kcal per 100 grams. Eek! Presumably its so high due to not just the condensed milk but also the butter and coconut too. In my local branch of Andersen, unfortunately they only sell the small sizes of this flavor. I would really like to have this in the medium size. Overall though, I was very happy with the flavor; and I would buy it again. I forgot to take a photo, so I have used a photo of another flavor of Danish Heart. You will find a few other flavors reviewed on City-cost.
