The description
This food product is a time limited‑Pokemon Shaka Shaka Potato of Nori Salt seasoning that adds a savory, seaweed‑salt lift to McDonald’s classic fries.
The good
This seasonal Shaka Shaka Potato tempted me due to the Pokémon collaboration bag it comes in. A white bag with colorful Pokemon characters on it. The best thing about the product is the bag! And the price isn't bad either at just 50 yen (before tax). For that, you get the Pokemon bag and a little sachet of Nori Salt Flavor seasoning. What you have to do then is put your fries in the bag, add the contents of the Nori Salt Flavor sachet and shake the bag thoroughly. Voila, Nori Salt Flavor McDonald's French Fries! Of course, you can opt to keep the bag and use the seasoning in another way. You don't 'have' to put it on fries. You can buy the sachet without buying the fries, as far as I am aware. The seasoning might actually taste better on something else, because for me, it didn't taste great on the fries.
The not so good
As above, I really wasn't into the flavor of McDonald's time limited Shaka Shaka Potato Nori Salt Flavor Seasoning. 100% - McDonald's French fries taste so much better without this seasoning. The seasoning is course, for want of a better word. I shouldn't have used the whole sachet, but even if I had only used a little bit, I think the result would still have been disappointing. If you aren't paying attention to the 50 yen price tag, something that might catch some people out is that just ordering the "Shaka shaka potato" doesn't automatically come with fries, you have to order them separately. You just get the seasoning if you don't specify. Although, I am sure if you just order the seasoning without fries, the staff will probably point it out to you that the "Shaka Shaka" is just the seasoning. I wouldn't be in a rush to buy this product again.
