The description
This drink product is a limited edition McFizz with Okinawa Pineapple made with 1% Okinawa-grown pineapple juice. A lightly sparkling and sweet summer drink.
The good
The McFizz Okinawa Pineapple is one of those drinks that instantly feels like summer in a cup. The gentle fizz gives it a lively, refreshing lift, and the pineapple flavor, made with 1% Okinawa‑grown pineapple juice, adds a clean, tropical sweetness that isn’t too heavy. I'm not a huge fan of pineapple, I would rarely eat chunks of pineapple, but when the taste isn't overwhelming, I like it as a flavor. And it wasn't overwhelming in this McFizz. Prices start from 300 yen - I paid 320 yen, which isn't bad for a limited-edition drink. The calorie count is also surprisingly light at just 158 kcal, making it a nice option if you want something summery, light but not too sweet or heavy. It’s bright, cheerful, and easy to sip, especially on warm days.
The not so good
Although the McFizz Okinawa Pineapple is refreshing, there are a few drawbacks worth mentioning. The price varies by branch. The cheapest you can get it for is 300 yen, which I think is a fair price. But it cost me 320 yen, before tax, in the Crea Mall branch of McDonald's in Kawagoe. The sweetness may feel a little one‑note, especially if you prefer drinks with more depth or acidity - the pineapple flavor is pleasant but quite mild, which I liked, but might not be to everyone's taste. The carbonation is also on the lighter side, which may disappoint those who enjoy a stronger fizz. I am glad I tried it, but I won't be rushing to buy it again.
