The description
This drink product is a sweet and smooth McDonald’s Iced Caramel Latte offering a light coffee base with creamy caramel flavor. Refreshing and affordable.
The good
This Iced Caramel Latte from McDonald's is surprisingly good. I wasn't expecting much, so it might be why I was so pleasantly surprised. Also, I very rarely go for 'iced' anything, I personally prefer my drinks hot or, for say carbonated cold drinks, without ice. I liked the small size; it was ideal for me. I think the taste might have got a bit repetitive if the drink was any larger. The fact that it was iced helped me cool down on a hot day. It is a perfect choice in this hot weather - if caramel latte is your thing. It comes with gum syrup separately, so you can adjust the sweetness to your preferred level. I initially drank it without the syrup and halfway down added a bit of the syrup, to add a contrast in flavor and also to help sweeten it a bit as the ice melted and diluted the flavor.
The not so good
As above, I liked the small size, but some people might find it a bit too small. The price is different by branch. Online they show it as "from 280 yen". In the branch I bought it in - Crea Mall in Kawagoe - it costs 300 yen before tax. It is a little on the expensive side considering you can pick up iced latte at vending machines easily at this time of year. But in fairness, it tastes a lot better than a vending machine caramel iced latte. As above, anything larger than the small size, may feel a bit one note and repetitive. The take‑away version I bought comes in a plastic cup, which isn’t ideal for the flavor or for the environment. Overall, I was happy with this product and I would buy it again.
