The description
This product is a 12-pack of individually wrapped mini packets of the classic strawberry-and-chocolate treats shaped like Mt Fuji. This is a Halloween version.
The good
I have previously reviewed the large, long cylindrical package of Apollo and gave it four stars, because of the price and the size. But this multi-pack is much more convenient and a reasonable price. It costs 298 yen before tax, 322 yen after tax. That works out at less than 30 yen per individual packet. This particular multi-pack is fun with the Halloween designs. There are seven different designs in total, so there is some overlap, but it is still fun for kids. The characters are cute rather than scary and the packet has a color fortune element too which some kids might dig. The number of packets - 12 - makes this pack good for sharing. The small size of the individual packets makes them suitable for popping in a bento as a treat.
The not so good
While the Halloween packaging is attractive and festive, this product may disappoint shoppers expecting a true assortment of flavours. Despite the colourful appearance and multiple packet designs, every packet contains the same standard Apollo strawberry-and-chocolate pieces. Also, while the price isn't bad at less than 30 yen for each individual packet, there are only five pieces of chocolate in each! One packet certainly wouldn't fill you. But there is a benefit in that too; if you don't want your child or yourself to overindulge in chocolate this size is useful. Overall, I love this product. The mini Mt Fuji shaped chocolates are delicious and the multi-pack is convenient and relatively good value.
