The description
This product is from Saizeriya's Grand Menu - crispy, golden hashed potatoes grilled in fragrant olive oil. Light, savory, and satisfying, a taste of home.
The good
Saizeriya's hashed potatoes remind me of home. So anytime I go to Saizeriya I order them for the center of the table. My children really like them too. They make a nice side dish when there are a few of you and they are not too filling. I've noticed that they have reduced the number in a portion. The photo in this post is an older visit, because I didn't take a photo on my most recent visit. But I am pretty sure there were only eight on the plate on our most recent visit. It costs 273 yen, or 300 yen with tax, so it's not a bad price at all. It's probably cheaper to buy them in a convenience store, but they don't taste as good! With the exception of Ministop's mini hashed potatoes which are particularly tasty.
The not so good
Because there are only 8 on a plate now (or thereabouts), even as a side dish, one dish may not be enough if you have a large number of people in your party. On our most recent visit to Saizeriya we ended up adding to our order and getting another plate of them as 8 wasn't enough for 5 of us. They are a bit greasy, but hashed potatoes are supposed to be that way. Moreover, Saizeriya use olive oil so they don't feel as unhealthy as other hashed potatoes. They are small and for most people one will be gone in a bite!
