I am not quite sure why this capsule toy caught my attention, but it did! Even though I am entirely unfamiliar with "Monster Lulu" and Flocky Mascot Figures. But I thought it was really cute. The two things I love about this capsule toy is that it can stand and its neck and arms are moveable. The craftsmanship is impressive for such a small item. It comes in six different colors. I was hoping for the pink, yellow-orange or green, but there was none of those colors left in the machine. In fact, there was only one capsule left, suggesting that these capsule toys appealed to others as well.

This is not about the Flocky Mascot Figure, but about capsule toys in general. One - it sort of bugs me the way they have two names in Japanese: gashapon and gachapon. I know now that gashapon refers to Bandai capsule toys in particular and gachapon refers to all capsule toys. Another issue I have with gachapon or capsule toys is the plastic containers can be wasteful. But at this particular shop they reuse the capsules and ask people to leave their capsules in one of the several capsule collection baskets. I bought this capsule as a present, but if I can I will ask the recipient for the capsule and return it to the shop another day.
