The description

This donut is a light, chewy mochi‑texture donut made of connected dough balls. Soft, bouncy, and gently sweet, Pon de Ring is Mister Donut’s signature bestseller.

The good

Pon de Ring is one of Mister Donut’s most iconic items, and the most popular, for a reason. The chewy, mochi‑like texture is incredibly satisfying, offering a gentle bounce with every bite. Its subtle sweetness makes it easy to enjoy without feeling heavy, and the ring of dough balls pulls apart neatly, making it fun to eat piece by piece. At just 172 yen to take-out or 176 yen to eat-in, I believe it is the cheapest, or at least one of the cheapest, donuts on their menu. It's not too filling, simple and not too sweet, making it a safe bet for people of all ages.

The not so good

Although Pon De Ring is hugely popular, I personally amn't the biggest fan. Having tried it a few times over the years, I wouldn't even put it in my top five Misdo (Mister Donut) donuts list! But I have one child who orders it each and every time. She is a diehard fan as is my mother-in-law and father-in-law! So, I buy it for them often. I think it's just a bit too plain for me. I do like the chewy texture, but that texture may not appeal to everyone. It’s a distinctive donut, but some people may find it less satisfying than other Mister Donut choices.
