Domino's Quadruple Cheese Pizza Review

For the uninformed, Domino's Pizza Japan has great weekend specials. With the app, every weekend you have a chance to get a coupon with their "Mystery Deals" coupon. The discounts range from 500-1,000 yen off to 50% off a large pizza, to a buy one get one free. And the best part about it is that you're always guaranteed to win something.

Feeling lazy and not wanting to cook, I decided to try my luck. I got a buy one get one free coupon, so I figured I'd try out the new quadruple cheese pizza they advertised in their email. Yes, you read that right. Quadruple cheese, in the land notorious for not cheesing up anything.

Though it was a bit pricey, I justified my purchase by rationalizing that all pizza in Japan is expensive. Without the coupon, a medium pizza is 2,400 yen before tax. (It only comes in medium size; no small or large quadruple cheese.) With my coupon, I got two for 2,400 yen.

...Which was a huge mistake. I didn't think there could be a thing as too much cheese. I always order the double cheese topping and am left unsatisfied. But this was too much cheese. They advertise it as having 320 grams of cheese on top of it and honestly this felt like they used the 500 gram Costco size bag!

And honestly, it didn't help that there was no sauce. It was just a inch-thick layer of cheese on top of a regular pizza crust. Some red sauce to break up the monotony would've been appreciated. The first slice was great, but as I got farther and farther through the pizza, the worse I felt. I managed to get through five slices before swearing off pizza for good. (It's been two days and counting!)

The other pizza is still sitting on my counter from this weekend, filling up my apartment with the smell of cheese. It was a smell that made my mouth water, but now it makes me a little nauseous. I just can't throw it away, knowing how much money I spent on it.

If you're braver than I am (or a masochist), you should act fast. This offering is only available until April 22nd! They also have a pepperoni version which includes 60 slices of pepperoni, and a mayonnaise version which is topped with 130 grams of mayo. I'll pass on all three.

Holy moly! That is crazy-cheesy! I don't think I could handle it either...the pepperoni one sounds kinda good but I think one piece and I'd be regretting that decision!!

@genkidesu I think the only way to go about it is to share it with a bunch of people! And have plenty of other alternatives haha.
