Another Reason to Use a Folding Fan

In the Q & A section, I shared about using a sensu, or traditional folding fan. Sure, old fashioned, but it's compact, eco friendly and it works.
I found another benefit of using this type of fan. The handheld electronic fans that a lot of young people carry around use lithium ion cell batteries. These are correlated with fires, as explained in this Asahi article published this week.
Be mindful of your phone and other electronic devices, especially in the heat this summer, as a potential fire hazzard.

My phone's battery swelled up like a souffle a few weeks ago. I hadn't banged it or left it in the sun and for the most part it was in an air-conditioned room. Scary stuff. I didn't know that the handheld electronic fans also use lithium ion cell batteries :-O Thanks for the heads up.

@BigfamJapan I have an older Google Pixel and some of them have known issues with their batteries overheating and swelling. If you haven't checked about your specific phone, I recommend looking up if the company has issued any statements about saftey issues. They might even offer a refund on replacing the battery or the phone. In addition, I read that some apps can cause overheating issues, and one game app I've since deleted always made my phone hot. I've found Reddit to be a good source for that kind of information as sometimes the company doesn't admit to issues.
