The description
This product is an individual serving packet of Thai Doitong Coffee, and it's available from Kaldi Coffee Farm. It was priced at 160 yen including tax.
The good
If you like buying products that have a mission beyond just making profit, this drip coffee from Kaldi Coffee Farm should be on your "to-buy" list. It supports the Doitong development project, which is all about supporting self-reliance of people living in this mountainous region of northern Thailand, and supporting the natural environment at the same time. The coffee itself is really tasty, too. You can buy larger pack formats of these drip coffee sachets if you find yourself liking it, and there are beans available too if you have the means to grind them.
The not so good
I always feel a little guilty when I buy something designed to help people and the environment (yay!) but then it's wrapped in single use foil/plastic. Like I've said on other reviews of Kaldi coffee sachets, I do wish they could convert over to cardboard packaging for these if it would still keep the coffee fresh. Overall though, this is a tasty coffee blend that has a cause behind it, and maybe it's naive of me but I do hope it makes some small difference to the community that grows it. Give it a try if you're a coffee drinker.
