Things I didn't try early on: Eating alone
One habit I've grown to love over my years here is going out to a cafe or restaurant alone. My home country isn't really one for solo dining, and typically if you go out for a meal or even for a coffee/cake, you're doing so with a friend (or group of friends), your spouse/partner, etc.
It took me a little while to get used to the fact that dining alone here is very normal, and a lot of places are very, very accommodating to solo diners, with individual booths, counter stools, and the like. I've never felt out of place eating by myself, and it's helped me branch out a bit with cuisine and try new places. In my home country, if I ever wanted to try a new spot I'd be waiting for someone else's availability to do so, whereas here I just go and check out what I want, when I want!
