The description
This product is a pack of Ditto sweet potato balls, and they're a limited time offering available from Komeda Coffee stores. They were priced at 1060 yen including tax.
The good
Right now, Komeda Coffee stores have a fun Pokemon collaboration going on. Along with a blueberry fromage shiro noir and a shrimp cutlet sandwich, there's also these Ditto sweet potato balls which come in a pack of six. They seem like quite a natural fit for this collaboration since as you can probably infer, they were inspired by the color of Ditto. The inner filling of these is a smooth sweet potato paste, and I think it works well with the outer donut-like crispy exterior. The cup they come in is very cute, too, if that's a purchasing consideration for you!
The not so good
My same gripe about the shiro noir also applies to the sweet potato balls, and that's the expense of them! Yes, they are tasty, and yes, the cup they come in is cute, but 1060 yen for six donut balls is a bit crazy. I am glad that I can review them on here and recoup 150 yen of that, because I do feel that it's highway robbery charging that for these... I think 600 yen would have been a fair price, but I guess they know that Pokemon fans will still come out in droves to purchase these even at the inflated price point. Give them a go if you can justify the price. They're yummy, but not 1060 yen worth of yummy, that's for sure.
