Great chewy texture

Dorayaki are one of my favorite on-the-go snacks, and this one from Family Mart has a really good, chewy texture to the pancake part. The red bean and cream fillings work together really well to provide both some natural sweetness and the trademark earthiness of the tsubu-an bean paste. It's actually quite filling, too, so if you're looking for a sweet snack that actually has a level of satiety then this is a good option to try. I felt that the price was pretty good, too, at 190 yen including tax. Under the 200 yen mark is always appreciated these days, and the fact that it does actually feel filling is a solid plus, too.

The red bean paste filling is tsubu-an (the chunky kind) rather than koshi-an (the smooth kind). Typically I prefer koshi-an, so if you're the same way then this might not be your favorite. In saying that, it does offer some nice textural contrast to the smooth whipped cream, but I know plenty of people that aren't the biggest fans of random textures in their food ;) Overall though, loved the chewy dorayaki texture, and the reasonable price point was also a winner for me. I would buy this again if the craving hit!
