The description
This product is the new Oriental mango and tea frappuccino, and it's available from Starbucks stores for a limited time. It's priced at 720 yen including tax.
The good
This new Oriental mango and tea frappuccino from Starbucks is quite different from others they've had in the past, since it uses a base of soy milk and jasmine tea -- great if you're not the biggest coffee drinker, since a lot of their other fraps go down that route as a base. The star of the show though is the mango flavor, which is in the form of a mango puree/pulp at the bottom of the drink, and then a mango sauce on top. Fresh, fruity, and I feel like it's a good fit for the warmer months -- I always associate mango with tropical islands, so it goes well with summertime!
The not so good
As I noted above, the base of the product uses soy milk instead of regular dairy milk, but the product overall still contains dairy. I really don't know what inspires them to go down the plant-based milk route while still having dairy in the product -- I just feel like it would make more sense to make it entirely plant based at that point, since you'd open the product up to more people. Alas, if you are vegan or do have dairy allergies, you'd still have to steer clear of this product. I also think that I personally prefer coffee based fraps over tea ones, so this wasn't my favorite. It wasn't bad, but I did feel a little bummed that I spent 720 yen on something that I felt was only okay.
