The shibazakura are beginning to flower!

One of my favorite local Golden Week activities is checking out the shibazakura in Uonuma. I went past today to check out how they're progressing, but it's still quite early days and I reckon they wont be at their best for a week or so.

Eventually the whole ground here is colored in pinks, purples, and white, and it's such a cool sight to see! I especially love the view with the snow capped mountains in the background.
