Places to get your festive feels in Niigata: Aore Nagaoka

I know that this time of year can be a really tough one for a lot of expats dealing with feelings of homesickness that often rear their head around the holiday period. Because of that, I thought I'd write some blogs about places where you can enjoy some festive feelings in my part of Japan. Maybe some of you fellow bloggers can do the same for your areas!

First up is a personal favorite because of ease of access, and that's Aore Nagaoka. This spot is super close to Nagaoka Station, and they have a whopping Christmas tree and an annual illumination event called Aollumination. It runs until late February, so you've got plenty of time to check it out. They're even hosting a Christmas market on select dates, with the info available on that link above.
