The description

This product is the "Ghana Premium Infiniment Vanille" chocolate, and it's part of Lotte's Valentine's product release. It was priced at 397 yen including tax.

The good

The Ghana range of chocolates is one of my favorites for its ease of access (it's at just about every convenience store/supermarket), the reasonable price tag, and the taste -- I feel like the quality for the cost is great. If you do want to up the ante on the fanciness of your Ghana chocolate, though, this special collaboration range with Pierre Herme (who has been everywhere lately, it seems) is a great one to check out. There are a few flavors in this special range, but I got the "Infiniment Vanille" type, and it definitely feels fancier. The box itself has gold embossing on the branding, and each piece of chocolate inside is individually wrapped. The vanilla filling inside has such a lovely flavor, and it makes the chocolates feel light but satisfying. My family were definitely fans of these.

The not so good

Individually wrapped pieces is one of those things that feels great from a sharing perspective, but not so great from a single use foil/plastic perspective. I think the pieces would have been fine without the individual wrapping, but I guess they had to find a way to make it feel fancier than your average Ghana chocolate. Sadly that comes at an environmental cost. Taste-wise though, I think these were really good, and I could understand how they would be popular for a nice, but still budget friendly Valentine's treat for someone in your life.
