Another record breaking day of heat (just six days after the last)
Yesterday was another record-breaking day of heat, with a high of 41.8c recorded in Isesaki City in Gunma. It has only been six days since the previous hottest day ever, which was 41.2c recorded in Hyogo.
It definitely leads me to question when the next record is going to be, not if there is going to be one. I feel like once upon a time, records like this were years or decades apart, not a matter of less than a week. Personally I think it's a good reminder that climate change isn't a future problem, but it's already reshaping life here pretty substantially. I don't know about the rest of you, but I find that I'm structuring my days differently (e.g. staying inside most of the day, aside from mornings and evenings), and I know that it's also affecting things like crop growth and the like.
All that to say, stay cool, and let's hope that we get some more precedented days rather than these constant unprecedented ones!
