Culture isn't gatekept in Japan
One of the things I really love about Culture Day is that enjoying art and culture doesn't have to cost a fortune. Many museums and cultural facilities offer free entry or discounted admission for the holiday, so it ends up being a great opportunity to visit somewhere you might not normally consider. Even outside of Culture Day, prices to attend different museums and such are way more reasonable than in my home country.
I love that culture doesn't feel gatekept here. You don't need to have a big budget or be an art enthusiast to enjoy a museum or learn about the history of the place you live. There are so many opportunities to engage with art and culture, even in smaller towns, and initiatives like Culture Day make them even more accessible.

I think that's extra lovely for families, because museum visits and other cultural outings can quickly add up when you're paying for several people. Having opportunities to explore for free or at a reduced price makes a real difference!
