The description

This product is a rich broth shio ramen cup noodle from Family Mart's store brand. I purchased it from (you guessed it) Family Mart for 213 yen including tax.

The good

This is a fairly reasonably priced cup noodle product since it's a store branded item. Sure, it's not as cheap as what you can get from supermarket store brands, but for a convenience store product I think the value for money aspect is decent. Topping-wise there are chicken-based meatballs, green onions, and bamboo shoots, and they're pretty generous with them as well. Like all cup noodle products it's quick and easy to prep -- just add your boiling water, wait about 3 minutes, and you're good to go.

The not so good

If you don't like the fishy taste of dashi then I would recommend steering clear of this one as it had a noticeable dashi flavor. Keep that in mind! Also, this cup noodle product is very calorie dense, clocking in at 453 calories for the entire thing. I don't think anyone purchases a cup noodle product with the expectation that it's going to be low calorie, but for the size this felt quite high in comparison to some other brands out there. Still, they're filling and not badly priced, so I would still say they're worth trying if you don't mind the noticeable dashi taste.
