The description

This product is a custard and salted caramel flavored dorayaki (they refer to it as a doramochi) which is a collaboration between Uchi Cafe (Lawson) x Hattendo.

The good

If you like the flavors of custard and salted caramel, I really recommend giving this product a try if it's available near you. It's called a doramochi (I find it to be just like a dorayaki, but with a slightly chewier texture) and it comes packed with a really generous filling of custard cream and salted caramel cream. The sweetness of the custard was a nice balance to the salted caramel, and I felt that they were very complementary to one another -- the taste was a solid 5 out of 5 stars from me.

The not so good

I honestly loved this, but I'm a big fan of custard so that's probably not any great surprise that it was a hit from me. One thing to note is that the filling is so generous that it's liable to ooze out if you're not careful, so just be mindful of that! Other than that small point (which is a very, very minor critique), I really don't have anything negative to say about this product. I loved it and would happily repurchase it again if it's still available next time I'm at Lawson. Perhaps that's one negative -- it's only a limited-time thing, and I would love to see it as a permanent lineup on their sweets repertoire.
