5 Places for Cosmos in Niigata

BigFamJapan wrote a great blog recently about 6 places to enjoy cosmos flowers in Tokyo. I always enjoy list-style articles like that, and I thought I would do the same for anyone who is coming to Niigata or perhaps is new to the prefecture. We have quite a few great spots for cosmos, so here are some of them!

1. Echigo Hillside Park

Echigo Hillside Park is worth a visit year round, but autumn has a lot to offer, from the changing leaves to plenty of cosmos. They also have a lot of Halloween decorations up right now if you appreciate those!

2. Higashiyama Fureai Agriculture Park

This is another spot in the Nagaoka area which has plenty of cosmos to enjoy. It's about 20 minutes by bus from Nagaoka Station, but there is parking on-site.

3. Ojiya Cosmos Field

This is only on Google Maps as "コスモス畑" so it's a very local spot, but if you want something a bit more hidden and not as touristy, then this is a really good option!

4. Uwappara Cosmos Park

Sometimes also referred to as the Iwappara Cosmos Park since it's near the Iwappara ski area, this cosmos park is a great place to visit because it also lacks crowds, especially if you can plan a weekday visit!

5. Ashizawa Herbal Park

This is another beautiful, free spot where you can enjoy cosmos and other blooms at different times of the year.
