The description
This product is a packet of Doenjang Jjigae (Korean soybean paste stew) potato chips, and they're available from Kaldi Coffee Farm stores. They were priced at 198 yen including tax.
The good
I'm a big fan of Japan's unique range of potato chip flavors, and these ones I tried from Kaldi Coffee Farm recently are inspired by Korean soybean paste stew, known as Doenjang Jjigae. I found that there was definitely a good spicy flavor to them (quite a kick), and the taste profile overall was very miso-based. The price was right around where I would have expected it to be, so I have no issues or complaints with the cost. I'd say that overall they are worth trying if you like new flavors and don't mind a little spice to your chips.
The not so good
The spiciness of these is definitely suited to more of an adult flavor profile, so just keep that in mind. And hey, if you're an adult who doesn't like spice that's no worries, either -- just steer clear of these ;) Overall though, I thought these were fun and different from the usual lineup of flavors I've seen. I appreciate that Kaldi products often take on more global flavors than just Japanese-inspired ones, which is always fun. Keep an eye out for them if you like spicy chips and just want to try something new!
