The description

This product is a Uji matcha kakigori with soft cream, condensed milk, and bean paste, and it's available from Komeda Coffee stores for a limited time. It was priced at 1070 yen for the regular size (you can also get it in mini size).

The good

It wouldn't be summer in Japan without some kakigori, and an easy way to get your fix is at Komeda Coffee stores. Right now they've got a Uji matcha kakigori with soft cream, condensed milk, and bean paste, and I feel like it's a wonderful option if you appreciate those traditionally Japanese sweets flavors. One thing I really like about this kakigori is that it's customizable. You can get *just* the shaved ice if you want, or add the toppings accordingly. You don't have to get all three (the soft cream, bean paste, and condensed milk) either, you can pick and choose the ones you want and it will be cheaper if you only opt for one or two.

The not so good

Obviously even without any of the toppings, this is a matcha kakigori, and I know some people love that and others don't. If you want to try and balance it, I would say to just get the soft cream and condensed milk, and maybe don't add the red bean paste. If you love Japanese flavors, though, then add everything on! Overall, I thought this was a tasty and refreshing kakigori option. I like that it's accessible, too. The regular size is most definitely big enough to share with someone, but if you're dining solo then you can always opt for the mini version. Happy eating, and enjoy! :)
