City-Cost saves the day!

I'd been feeling run down quite a bit lately, so I got a blood test a few weeks ago which showed I had really low ferritin. Basically, that's your body's iron storage, and if it's low you can struggle with a lack of energy, thinning hair, shortness of breath, and a whole host of other health ailments.

Low ferritin means you have to supplement with iron, and ideally get more iron into your day-to-day diet. That's where City-Cost has saved the day for me!

Admittedly, I would say that I don't eat as much red meat living here as I did back home (mainly because it's a lot more expensive than in my home country!) but then I remembered a while ago (all the way back in 2020 , actually!) seeing an article from fellow City-Cost blogger helloalissa about iron fortified foods in Japan.

This is a HUGE part of why I am so thankful for the City-Cost community. Sometimes it's really hard as a foreigner here knowing exactly where to turn when you face different challenges in life. Reputable, personal experiences are a godsend when you're trying to learn about niche things like the best ways to incorporate more iron into your diet!

Is there any information you've learned here on City-Cost that has helped make your life here better, whether it's for health purposes or something else entirely?

I agree, its great to have the community and the resources. I hope you see a big difference once you start taking in more iron. Great that you were able to pinpoint the root of the problem.
