The crazy snow of the past week
The past week has definitely been putting the yuki in yukiguni out here, with some crazy numbers in terms of daily centimeters of snowfall. What does that look like?
This is the view across the street from Urasa Station. I took the picture from a restaurant parking lot which is across the street, but even their lot was building up with snow. You can also see the snow walls building up on either side of the main road.

Some buildings get basically surrounded by snow depending on whether or not they have a ground water sprinkler system to melt some of it away. You can see the yellow and red pole in the photo below, which is roughly a bit over 6ft tall to give you an indication of the snow height.

A lot of houses here (mine included) have a sprinkler roof system so you don't have to manually go and clear off the snow. People's little sheds don't, however, so they often look like this when it's crazy snowy out.
